Though it says on the score "man to be played straight, not in drag or mincing". The only reason it is written for a guy is that "Closer Than Ever" is a revue written for two men and two women (a baritone, a tenor, an alto and a soprano, I think), like "Songs for a New World" and "A Grand Night for Singing". I think the campness spoils it a bit to be honest.

We're doing this show in Newcastle in the United Kingdom next week, this is a tune and a half, Alice, Angela and Nancy.....im so glad u used a man for it.....needs to be done like that! :) fab guys!
