The list itself is good...with only a couple of exceptions. The biggest exceptions are not having both Wall-E and Beauty and the Beast on the list somewhere. Pull Titanic and Toy Story. The biggest problem is the order. The top 5 needs an overhaul. Leave Citizen Kane and Godfather but Schindler's List, 2001, Lawrence of Arabia should be the top 5...in that order. Most of the rest of the list needs to be reworked on order.
I would have put Pulp Fiction in the top 20, taken off Titanic and replaced it with Beauty and the Beast, moved Schindler's List to top five, Star Wars to top ten, leave Citizen Kane where it is, moved up To Kill a Mockingbird, and moved Lawrence of Arabia into the top three. Wizard of Oz is overrated. And where the fuck is the Big Lebowski?
@EnterTheWuTang1 oh and American Beauty, how can that not be here?. Seems it was missunderstood by so amny people it's one of the best ever invented without a doubt
Ive seen 49 of these, still got a bit of catching up to do I do plan on seeing all of these. But honestly eventhough most of the films ive seen are deifntietly worthy of making this list some were extrmemely suprising and some seemed to low whilst others seemed to high. I'm a bit shocked these guys didn't add Paths Of Glory,Night Of The Hunter,Rebel Without A Cause,Dog Day Afternoon,The Shining,The Exorcist, The Killing,Close Encounters Of The third Kind or Scarface
i think the original 1997 list was more accurate. Toy Story was definitely awesome to see in 1995, but it shouldn't be considered one of the greatest movies of all time.
I started watching movies on this list last year; I have seen 70 of them so far. Most of these movies are from the 20th century but that is because without many of them, movies would not necessarily be how they are today. Bonnie and Clyde (1967) was the start of a very violent era of film. A Clockwork Orange (1971) inspired a whole new dimension in film making. Just because our favorite movies of today aren't on this list, doesnt mean they will never be. Some just need time to be appreciated!
Pulp Fiction is a piece of crap
