An unplugged version of one of Bonos's strangest hits - his sermon about finding God living with the poor in a cardboard box but apparently doing nothing to help them.
Bush's 8 years = worst job growth in 70 years, worst GDP growth since Eisenhower, a repeat "go shopping" message that lead to negative savings and over $1 trillion in consumer debt, a disappearing surplus, total failure on SS and Medicare reform, zero energy policy, 4.2% declines in household income, a 26.1% hike in poverty level, fastest growth of govt since New Deal, and more... all of which impact both markets AND general economy... and you say he deserves no blame?
Bush was in office eight years longer than he should have been. As for the phrase "part of it" -- you quote me as if that's what I said. Where did I say that? I said "in the markets" as someone who is most certainly deep in the statistics, analysis, conversations between professionals, and more. This, counter your claim that Bush bears little or no responsibility for today's downturn in markets or general economy... backed up only by, clearly, your bias for Bush. You've yet to provide any proof.
@jackster1212 Bush wasn't in offcie long enough to build the house of cards... and if you're a finacial journo you're not "PART of it" as you've claimed, you're on the outside looking in...you need to be more objective
@jackster1212 I didnt say anything of the sort lol.. i said There weren't always perfect solutions to the world problems... key word there is "Perfect" YOu expext Bush to come up with perfect solutions to the worlds problems or do nothing
First of all, Bush DID help considerably in building the house of cards. Again, don't open your mouth when you haven't done your homework. Second, I'm a financial journalist. What I've done in the markets -- for the past 18 years -- is report on them, analyzing how crises like these take shape. Again, if you care to go toe to toe on specifics, I'm ready... if you'd rather keep calling me names and drooling generally over the Bush legacy, then we're done here.
Huh? That doesn't even make sense... first you tell us that Bush solved problems... then you tell us that he didn't have solutions to problems only because there are no perfect solutions... and then you're saying -- wait -- that because I dare to call Bush out for being a fuck-up, that I'm somehow saying the better plan would have been to do nothing? I've said nothing like it.
Truth! Peace
