Do they hate each other or is it all an act? Bill Maher discusses his dust-up with Elisabeth Hasselbeck on "The View."

  • Bill Maher twitter post 17 Nov 2011:

"Speaking of distortions the Hasselbeck line on Real Time on Feb 4 came 11 days before we knew Lara Logan was raped - typical Republican conflation."

  • @falpalemily He isn't a dick he's just critical. All his claims are fair.

  • him say some pretty "racist" things in regards to Muslims, Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics".Questioning their religions is not racist. Believing in superstitions and myths in order to segregate other religions is not racist to criticise. It was the mormons who seperated blacks and whites until 1965 when they were forced to changed.". One religion saying the others is wrong and they will be going to hell is not racist just superstitious nonsense. An aweful lot of people are going to hell.

  • he wussed on the view, he should have said as a republican you are dangerous, you are the enemy, the antagonist, the ones who time & time again choose money & business over human lives, the closest direct link to the confederates, the ones letting fracing ruin our water the FDA to be weak & the rich to get richer, blondie your lucky if all you got was a bad joke

  • just imagine Elisabeth Hasselbeck face when she saw that

  • I saw "the view" that morning, Elizabeth H. tried to corner Bill M. and failed. She had an empty argument as she always does. Just because he made that comment about her she wanted to brand him as a woman hater. It was a smack on you Elizabeth, thats all it was.

  • they do not 'hate' each other - I watch both shows regularly. I believe he thinks she is an idiot (she mostly is) and not 'worthy' of his hate.,and she felt hurt and bullyed, but she probably comes close to hating him I don't get all these comments that he is racist. He make fun of and is critical of everyone.

  • I think Hasselbeck went a little personal on the view, and her saying that it didn't affect her was a lie cuz I wouldn't bring something up if it didn't influence me in any way.

  • FUCK iPads !!

  • @PhantomGhost25 I think you mean to say he's very stereotypical with regards to his comedic material. I do not believe Maher is trying to imply that he is a racist through his dialogue. The man simply points out things that most rational people think about in today's state of affairs, but just lack the audacity to actually say out loud. Sure, some of his stuff can be considered discourteous, I can see your point - but racist? No, I can't agree with that.

I do watch his show, and I've heard him say some pretty "racist" things in regards to Muslims, Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics. This isn't a case of me being sensitive or thin skin, some of his material is very racist, sexist, and unfunny. I tell you what, let a Black, Asian, or Hispanic comic get on the air and mention something about Jews, ovens, burned toast, or ashes, and lets just see how long his show remains on the air. How about that?
