bought one in london in may 69....rode with my girl friend through europe, north africa, UK....amazing memories...the bike never let me down....shipped it back to canada....sold it for what i paid for it....would love one again

Nice bike Brian I like the electric mods you did to it. It is probably a lot more reliable than the stock Lucas stuff.

Thanks. It's much more reliable than the 6v Lucas system with points. Later 441 models went to a 12v system but, they were still a real pain to start. There's always a "get to know" period for old English bikes. Each one has their own special starting sequence. Once you learn it, your golden. This bike now fires on the first kick (almost) every time. ; ) After all, it is British.
