John Hannah stars as Scottish footballer Willie Connolly, with special appearance by Brian Clough as himself.

Willie Connolly wants Ken Boon (Michael Elphick) to act as his minder. Ken is warned off by a Glaswegian, who tells him to pass on the message to Willie that "He's got twenty-four hours". Meanwhile Willie's wife (Julie Graham) turns up. Ken suspects that Willie's manager, Bob Barnet (Donald Gee), is not all that he seems.
