EXACTLY! the point I was trying to make, thank you for also pointing it out. the TRADITION is lost here. It is sad, with such a rich tradition. But I don't know where the power thing comes into play. And the thing about worshiping the idols, don't forget what I said, "There is a time and a place 4 everything," and I don't think tradition and religion should be played with :)
Oh, I just looked back at the begining text, This is Borivali, The bigest posers r in Mumbai, it figures. girls please don't wear jeans to Navratri, unless u can't afford traditional dresses.

well according to the dancer the traditional dresses are not comfortable while playing the garba so the jeans. its not that they cant afford traditional dresses. and whats the harm if a person wears jeans? everyone has a freedom to wear what they like and no one can dictate anyone how they should do and wear.

I just think that, these people are trying to modernize something "too much" that shouldn't. This should be a religious festival, but you see no idol of any god. There is nothing to show that this is navratri. We here make our own steps and they play different music, but we still have the idol of Ambe Ma and have to take off our shoes b4 entering, you can tell it is Navratri, where as here, if you turned off the music it looks like a party.

well your point of views expressed here is from the long gone era of tradition where people in power dictates what religion is and how one should behave...and i don't blame your formation landscape here...well religion is in the hearts of people and not something external like worshiping idols...god is in everyone and to celebrate the good over evil the festival was formed to celebrate it...anyway your life formation cant stop changes in world.

Waht is this, Chaos, lol. This is not garba, it's far from it. Again the desi's trying to be toooo modern for their own good. They all might try goin to a club next time, lol.

yes its chaos and you cant call it garba, but the bright side of this is the youngsters are very innovative in creating new forms of dance steps. Change is inevitable and you cant deny it. Old is always gold but see the creativity of the youngster to invent something new in this chaotic world.
