This is my interpretation of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Chanson Triste".

With this piece articulation and tone were key aspects of focus. As four quarter notes repeatedly appear in this piece it was very important to make each one individually interesting. I believe I decently achieved this although there is always room for improvement.

Please leave any comments as they are greatly appreciated.

  • @SuperCellomello Thanks! I'd love to be a professional someday. For now though, I enjoy just playing and studying the cello.

  • Thank you for sharing your gift of music on youtube -- if you eventually choose to share it with a larger audience than your family, friends and immediate community, I hope we have the fortune of hearing you perform.

  • @jbrossard Thanks. That is a dream of mine, we will see if that one day becomes a reality.

  • I think you did quite well. I am just starting to play professionally this year and I played this piece a few years back, and you did very well. The dynamic contrast was very good. Maybe a little more core to the sound. Even though it is piano doesn't mean that it has to be weak sounding. I have that problem myself. But VERY GOOD overall. Keep Playing! You have great talent!
