No other plane comes close to the display of the Vulcan.....why doesn't the guy on the tannoy shut up
-
I love how the noise of the engines drowns out the annoying commentary.

i saw the vulcan years ago at mildenhall air show and what a show, went along the runway at low level then went vertical and put the power on and boy did the ground shake
-
he is flying it so slowly that it was almost a tail strike

It's such a shame she's only allowed to use 20% of military power now she's back in the air. I was at Waddington 2008 on her first new public display and it brought a lump to my throat. Still a wonderful aircraft.

@adrianswhitehead I dont see why you would find it dissapointing can't you just be happy we have a vulcan back in the air? XH558 isnt as young as she was back then and she has limited life left on her if she was thrown around the way she was she would be retired much sooner than planned. The engines are limited to 1200 cycles which means she is only aloud to have full power on a limited ammount of times. And she is flown the way she is to preserve her. She is a show stopper no matter what. :)

It's one of the V Bombers. Delta Wing, the inspiration for Concorde. It had its moments and now there is one left which flies. Fly safely Vulcan. I admire it and its voice.

The Concorde and Vulcan are definately the loudest of the British Rolls Royce Aircraft. The Nimrod was about 3rd.

The best sounding aircraft along with the Concorde,B1 Lancer, and F-14 Tomcat I ever heard at any air shows. First saw it in 1972. Then in 1973,1976,1977,and I last saw it along with the Concorde in 1983 at the CNE Labour Day weekend air show in Toronto Canada. The take offs and fly by's right over the crowd low completely shakes your guts and your ears are ringing for the rest of the air show, lol. Like the loudest heavy metal rock concert you can think of.

Good to see some 'vintage' show footage - standing the thing on its wing tip rather than disappearing off into the far distance in a long gentle turn. Thanks to the uploader.

@vulcan903 i noticed the same problem with regulations over here at airshows after the 1980s. you used to hear jet aircraft close up and at full throttle going to air shows from the 1960s to 1980s.

@adrianswhitehead They did a lot better at the 2010 Bristol company centenary. Maybe they fixed it up some?
I watched the Vulcan at Waddington 2010. disappointing. The pilot flew it like he was afraid of it. No Vulcan roar. very poor.If its a museum piece, keep it there on the ground. If it a show stopper like it should be, try opening the taps a bit!!! Take a hint or fans will lose interest very quickly like myself. Lets see XH558 flown at the bigger airshows like it used to be or keep it parked up to save any dissapointment or embarrasment. Comments welcome!

@adrianswhitehead You are not alone in your comments however the operators are governed by the OEM of the engines to what can be tolerated. The airframe will outlive the engines based on OEM support.
