On July 8th, 2009 The Senate ignored the wishes of DHS Secretary Chertoff (R) and approved the DeMint Amendment, forcing the government to build two complete Border Fences.

It may cost 5 million a mile ,but its also costing us over 500 billion a year to support illegals, so build a double layered cantorleavered fence with barbed wire between it and make it safe that no boarder patrol personnel get hurt, and the savings would be incredible in the long run, also jobs would be created for Americans to erect the fence.

No expense should be spared in gaining control of our southern border. First, we need to prevent as many illegals from getting in, as possible. Next, we need to start removing the ones presently in the country. Those who think this is unnecessary need to start taking a look at California's schools, prisons and state budget. California is the example of what comes from failing to enforce immigration laws.
