Anuna in performance at Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre, 2004. "The Mermaid", traditional Irish melody arranged by Michael McGlynn who also sings the solo, is followed by "Ceann Dubh Dílis" written by Michael.

  • Would you mind making two videos, one for each song ? I would like so much my male choir to listen (and also sing I hope) Ceann Dubh Dilis. Thanks a lot !

  • @Polymnia5 too tricky I'm afraid - I think there might be a performance of Ceann Dubh on the TG4 channel on YouTube that might be OK.

  • What was the hill rolling about? I though Ceann Dubh Dilis was about a dark-haired beauty, and I picked out something about a pale hand. The rest of it was lost on me- lol.

  • The girls were bored, so rolled down the hill few times at the rehearsal.

  • You all sound fantastic! You have no idea of what I would give to have been there in person to see it with my own eyes.

The next time I am in Ireland....I will do my best to catch a performance.

  • This amphitheatre is such a magnificent place. Watch out for 2011 programme for Ballykeeffe. Check our website . Hope to have new canopy in place which should really add to the beauty and uniqueness of this little gem built deep into the rock. No need to go miles to find a more haunting and wonderful experience!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It´s about 3:00 that Ceann Duhb Dilis starts.

  • @brezairola Thank you so much for your answer ! Indeed, I found it on TG4 channel.

(How do you manage to be so considerate with each one and find the time to do all that beautiful work with Anuna ?!! you're so amazing...)

  • @brezairola

    thats always fun... =)

  • @bingowasmyname This is one of my favourite songs, as much for the bravado of the lyrics as the melody and performance. In the first verse, the man praises the dark-haired beauty - but the second verse is what clinches it for me, because he boasts of how the girls of his village are all fighting over him, and he could have any one of them, but he chooses the dark-haired beauty. He isn't the faintest bit humble about it. :-D
