This tutorial shows how to enable manual control of any of the parameters present within any given instrument inside of Pro Tools 8. Use your MIDI controller to alter the cutoff on a synth during playback or map the ADSR filters to physical sliders for real-time control.

  • Hi, Bryan. As far as I know there is no way to save the parameter settings. Secondly, you can assign the knobs on your midi device to just about any parameter in logic, whether is a fader, panning knob, a knob within your selected plugin, and so forth. And yes, you can use this option with any midi device, I was saying keyboard because that is what I was using in the example. Once again, thanks for the question, and feedback Bryan, cheers.

    Chris.

  • Good turorial, How do I save the settings and can those setting also be set for faders and buttons? Oh can this be used for other devices besides keyboards?

  • Hi Bryan,

Glad the tutorial helped out. You can assign control to practically any type of MIDI controller you have. You can assign knobs, faders, sliders and any other type of controller with this shortcut.

Not sure if you can actually save the assign settings as a template but I'm going to look into it and let you know.
