I believe it was actually the Andantes that did the background vocals on the original Mary Wells hit version of this song, not the Supremes. Look it up on Wiki...

@ChakaFanTV That's a good description of how Ms. Ross carries this song. It's not just sugary sweet, it's sappy. Sorry, but Diana can't carry every song she is given. This is the reason why Berry Gordy should have allowed Mary and/or Flo take the lead sometimes. Some songs were just not ment for Ms. Ross. And, this is one of them.

@coolsweetgroovy Yes. The Supremes did the harmony vocals on Mary Wells original, more solid version of this song. But, I agree with most. Diana doesn't do a great job of carrying this song. Her vocals are weak. Mary Wislon would have been better suited to do that job. Diana can't always carry a song. Sorry.
