This trailer presents the first 10 minutes of the CRTN - documentary "Nagaland A Tribal Church."

Production Date: 2007
Duration: 29

Copyright: CRTN
Language: English, French, German
Executive Producer: Mark Riedemann
Director: David Jones

Stretching from Tibet in the North to Myanmar in the South, Nagaland is one of the smallest and least developed states of the so-called Seven Sisters; the relatively unexplored and isolated territories that comprise the north-eastern corner of India. Fertile plains, Himalayan foothills and deep gorges, characterize the region. Nagaland is often called the Switzerland of the East. For the Naga, it is not statehood but ethnic tribe that defines identity. Each tribe has its own custom, language and oral traditions handed down from generation to generation. Modernisation has come late to Nagaland. Protected by centuries of isolation, traditional culture is gradually succumbing to the increased pace of contemporary life. The resulting uncertainty of a new materialism has left many indigenous without moral and spiritual guidance. In their search for meaning, an ever-increasing number of young Naga families are returning to their Catholic Faith.
