@chevyalltheway06 Yes, they were originally all steam. The dates are a bit fuzzy but some the old timers in our shop (Roseville) came from Sacramento. The ones that were there when it happened are all retired so I dont have anyone to currently ask who was there when the conversion happened.
Its funny how much mis information gets spread throught the news media. People probabily saw that and spread the word that it was built in the 50's. SP rebuilt it in Sacramento in the 50's, the SPMW 209 was built in the 20's.
