Salvador Allende's last speech

The people in Chile tried to pursue their idea of a new kind of society: equal, free, and justice for all. And this is how the imperialist America destroyed that idea: low-intensity warfare, political and economic sabotage, and support to fascist army leaders that wanted to overthrow the democratically elected government. This is one of the most glaring examples of the inhumanity of imperialism, and it shows the need to keep struggling for a new type of equal democracy that doesn't give rights to people with money but to all people. Never waver in the fight against imperialism, or else it will destroy you instead.

A new analysis of Alliende's autopsy appears to show that he was shot first with a smaller gun, then shot again with an AK47, in an attempt to make it appear that he committed suicide.

@monelleny Thank you for sharing that information. I think many people (including myself) already assumed that they just executed him and tell everyone else that he shot himself (to demoralise his supporters). Maybe you can share a link to that information so people can read it.

Alliende's body has just been exhumed for study. I heard about that on National Public Radio today, and that''s what brought me to this site. If you do a Google search for Alliende autopsy Dr. Luis Ravanal, you will see many articles about this.

There is an interesting article at Wikipedia under Death of Salvador Alliende. It appears there were quite a few witnesses to the suicide. I don't know what to believe. It will be interesting to see what this new investigation comes up with.

@monelleny An interesting article at wikipedia? I think thats a contradiction haha. I would not put much faith in those "witnesses" or undocumented sources at wikipedia. Most of those "witnesses" are probably in the pro-Pinochet camp anyway, because they were the ones who stormed the building. I think this new study is probably the most truthful.

The working people of Chile lived in fear and endless bloodshed for many many years because of Nixon and Pinochet. May they both burn in hell for what they did.

@Kalinin1917 Wether he committed suicide or he was killed, there's no much difference. Falling prisoner could have meant being tortured and manipulated. He sacrified is life for his country and his people, he did not surrender to Pinochet.
