7 Headed Tube Drum

This custom made ceramic tube drum is a piece of art. Strike the closed ends of the tubes to get 7 different notes. There are fish skin heads on all 7 tubes. It is incredibly versatile, and can be played tonally like a marimba; it covers a wide range of timbres and offers many musical possibilities. Extremely fun to play, this drum is sure to surprise any player or audience member.

Finished in Red Iron and Chrome glass, this stoneware ceramic piece is structurally rock solid and is functional both as a fascinating musical instrument and a piece of visual art. E-mail me for information on an optional piezo electric microphone system for the 7 drums.

The drum weighs 14 lbs, and is 23 inches long and 18 inches wide. You play the heads with your fingers. The drum rests comfortably between your legs while sitting firmly on the ground on a rubber nob at the end of the lowest tube.
