Professor Nagler urges people note areas of agreement with people who approved of the killing: 1) We want America to be secure, 2) We want America to be respected in the world, 3) We should not let ourselves be drawn in fulfilling bin Laden's desire for a clash of civilizations. True security and respect come from building relationships with each other and eventually, our enemies.

I'm in favor of nonviolence, but he lost me at, "I happen to believe that we were at least partly complicit in the disaster of 9/11."

This is important work that needs to be done and shared...finding strategies to engage but not alienate our fellow citizens who are fearful and full of anger...and sadly becoming the very thing they despise in the "terrorists"
