@CBR11X More valves doesn't necessarily translate to more power or a better engine. 32valve implies a DOHC engine, V8 Supercars continue to use pushrod engine because they're now almost bulletproof. There is also 'Project Blueprint' which ensures parity between Ford and Holden, Toyota wasn't told to piss off because they had a different engine, it was because they didn't fit the image V8SC wanted to project. As you can now see, V8SC has done a backflip and are looking for new manufacturers.

Cost saving, safer, close the gap between the big and small teams. Sounds so familiar *cough COT cough*. Heres a tip, dont do it. I would say that 2011 was the first year with the COT where it was half decent looking and raced good. Dont be like Nascar and screw up something good. V8 supercar racing is spectacular, dont change it.

@CBR11X You r absolutley correct where do i vote for that concept?

@foldedpaperboats i tottaly agree bring back REAL racing cars what u race is what u can buy Tony Cochran is an idiot the cars are nothing like what they seem
-
bring back standard cars just race what you can buy thats what its all about 5 seconds faster makes no differnec on my tv i dont think even the badges are the same as what you can buy
-
as long as they keep sticking the original dashboard to the car of the future, i'll keep thinking it's a car i can buy.

What's this shit? I was expecting V8 Hover Cars by now.

@foldedpaperboats They are just going the NASCAR route with tube chassis, because basically the show is unsustainable with the current growing costs. I remember when they raided the lower class like Utes and Porsche cup cars for sponsor money.
V8 Supercars is a show not a sport, like NASCAR, and that's why they do things to make more action, like having all the makes equal, because it makes more money, and V8 Supercars are all about making money. Just watch, you'll be paying to watch soon.

Ikea comes to V8supercar

The V8 series major problem is they relied too heavily on the Ford v Holden battle. The problem being the success only lasts provided both car companies are willing to be involved. The minute one starts to lose interest or struggle financially you have to either start making the cars equal (Project Blue Print) or look to attract other companies. The problem is they've marketed V8s so heavily on the Ford v Holden battle that no manufacturer could ever establish a fan base.
What about the engines? How will this help entice other manufacturers? Toyota wanted to enter a few years ago and were told to piss off essentially. If Toyota were to use a 32 valve V-8 engine in this series, like they manufacture now, wouldn't that make the Fords and Holdens uncompetitive? What great racing we had in the 80's and early 90's. We had BMW, Nissan, Ford, Holden and others racing each other. If they bring in a power to weight parity rule it would be great and entice other makers.

very very silly stuff...... common chassis and 'flat pack' assembly stuff is not touring cars
This thing is abit like Sports Sedans, but without the variety!
Bring back proper touring cars!!
