Yep...that is cool. Nice one
-
@xXL3GITAMACYXx1 so what, people die every single day
-
Also, if you don't think it was a mechanical failure, consider this - they had almost full right rudder deflection just BEFORE the explosion. Maybe they were just trying to swerve around a bird...
-
I don't care what you guys think happened inside the engine. It sure as hell wasn't engine success! It was an engine FAILURE.
FO to Captain: Engine 1 just failed
Captain to FO: are you sure it wasn't a compressor stall, or a bird, or...
FO: well maybe it wasn't an engine failure, just keep going then
-
@xXL3GITAMACYXx1 yeah, like the people that live inside of engine number 1! Or if the engine blew up because they were trying to mule drugs inside it and they came loose and fell into the turbine blades and now the drugs won't be delivered and so someone is gonna kill their families! FUCK, PEOPLES LIVES COULD BE I JAPARDY -- FYI Definition of LEGITIMACY: the quality or state of being legitimate, I know it's L337, but come on, if it's gonna be your statement, spell it right. ALSO -- JEOPARDY

"COOL"?!?!?!?! FUCK, PEOPLES LIVES COULD BE I JAPARDY

Approximately 4 seconds after failure, the aircrew had the spoilers up and started the abortion procedures. Good job on them.
-
@SgtSavage166 yes xD
-
it's called a compressor stall... being an aviation A&P, they're a lot more common than you think. Most of the time the turbine can be re-ignited and continue. Who knows what this ingested or if it ingested anything.
"I got it on film"
"cool"

It's the operator's responsibility to maintain the plane, not Boeing.
