Thanks very much for a very good presentation! It was a big help for me on my first day of trying to get familiar with jasperforge reporting.

That's pretty cool, but you could have probably trimmed the time down to 5 minutes by dragging the fields into the report's detail section from the Report Inspector, which would also insert a column header that can be customized. No need to configure the text fields when doing this.
Anyway, not trying to criticize, but just trying to be helpful.

hi bekwam .. I noticed that you created cloveretl tutorials (january) & jasper tutorials (march) ..
I'm evaluating these and other products .. and I'm wondering if you have a particular recommended product? Thanks .. Alex

@arul20 Hi Alex,
I'm working with open source or community versions these days for data integration (moving records, processing XML). Talend, CloverETL, and expressor are all worth a download. These products also provide commercial versions.
I recommend Jasper Reports for projects, but haven't done many comparisons because Jasper has worked so well for me.

Thanks for the feedback. A single drag operation is a lot better, especially on a large monitor when the palette's docked.
