I have enjoyed the music of Peter Warlock for a very long time. As a child I used to sing his version of "Adam lay ybounden," and as an adult I learned some of his Shakespeare settings. He use of mixed meter makes his music an exciting challenge to learn!

I discovered Warlock a week ago, but he's a stranger to me so far.
Such interpretation, could this be men's view on women's view about men in our generation?

A great composer, a pity too few understand his musical allusions (to intentional awkwardness provided by Elizabethan lute song hemiolas, or the faux sentimentality of late 19th-century ultrachromaticism) which are a musical equivalent of wry English wittiness and puns.
Several leading British 20th century composers, Britten and Howells included, thought Warlock one of the finest art song composers of all time.

Thank you for your insightful comment! I wish I had more professional knowledge of music to understand these allusions you mention... Besides his musical genius, he's a fascinating character that inspired some of the most interesting literary characters in early modern literature
