this is a summary of stage 8 of the tour de france 2003. The first real mountain stage was quite chaotic with many attacks and a rather weak Armstrong.

EPO, blood doping, HGH, testosterone, IGF-1...
Amazing watching these guys practically sprint up one of the hardest climbs in the world, after 180km of hard racing.
I miss the days of no helmets though, at least up the final climb. The rest of the course I can see why they are mandatory.

don't care if they were all hopped up on dope, that first acceleration by beltran and chechu is a thing of beauty. absolutely destroyed the field that day.
