20 yrs ago our dream was to go there, now it's all about the fancy interface...
It's a pity that our vision of the future from the 20 yrs ago was way more advanced than today's vision. At least people dared to dream big dreams back then...
If we put such effort in actual research, instead of UX we could get an actual experience...

@Pendragon1989 I don't know which version of Celestia you tried, but at least from 1.5 onwards you have the entire local group available, and you can zoom out of your galaxy…

@Ilsimeone I don't care for Celestia. Look up a program called Space Engine. I prefer this and Space Engine. What first wowed me was when I was zooming out and I begin to notice all the stars and planets start moving, and eventually saw the entire Milkyway.. I was like WOW!

very cool program, but keep in mind that microsoft didn't invent it. it is a knock-off of the excellent program "celestia".
