O.K.-- it seems awfully fast.
But why bother criticizing :34? Or posting it??

This is my view completely. Why should we allow ourselves to be tainted by competetiveness? We forget the very reason we love music in the first place; unbridled emotion and freedom of expression. There is nothing 'free' about rivalry and snobbery. I sing and study music for the love of it and believe i always will.

where is it?

You can't really tell from the footage.Probably either Simon Mulligan or Jeremy Denk. Both are fantastic...yes, I do know he has been accompanied by many people via piano...but if I had to make a guess it would be either of the two men I listed.

I find this all a bit unfair. Josh is someone who, like any human, can disappoint at times. Yet, whenever I 've been on the verge of writing him off, he has (granted-with greater intervals) always astounded me with the high of art he sometimes achieves. I think he has much to offer. We listened to Menuhin 40 years after he lost his best abilities, for those special moments he could create...
hey guys, who cares if Bell is better, or Perlman or Hahn or Zukerman...ect.
It's music, not sports, there is no first place, you don't score points. You don't get a trophy for being the best.
It's art.
So shut up and listen, if you don't like it, thats just fine too. So don't buy his CD's, but I suggest you stop wasting your time debating over something so pointless. You forget the reason why music exists in the first place, it's not a competition.

Thank you for this comment, you're absolutely right. I'm a principal cellist in a French orchestra but also an 'amateur'- suppose I mean I still love savouring performances while staying as 'un-damaged' by being a professional as possible. Anyway, am grateful there are people like you around with a healthy point of view on the way we appreciate musical performance. Sorry this is a bit long
