Our Milky Way actually is a barred spiral galaxy which will become a giant elliptical galaxy after merging with Andromeda in the distant future. Sorry for geeking out, bye! :)

Hey.
I've been gathering footage from archive.org.
Where did you get this footage (if you don't mind me asking)?

@AnagramOfBen I got it from a collection of public domain video databases... i was searching for months to find some pretty specific stuff that i had in my head... i cant even remember where i got half of them... i'm starting this up again ... it has been a while since i have uploaded... so there will be some more soon... persevere and your patience will be rewarded! Good luck on your videos and happy hunting!

i found that video somewhere on an internet archive. it is a simulation of how a bar Galaxy like ours can become a spiral galaxy over time. It was done a while ago, like in the seventies or early eighties.
