NYC Serenade. Sorry, I had to cut it at about the halfway point (this show's version ran an amazing 20 min). If Youtube ever removes the 10 min. time restriction on videos, I'll put the whole thing up. This is from a 1975 E Street Band show at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA. Just an incredible performance (maybe the best ever) of an incredible song. Suki Lahav's violin part isn't in the album version, but it really adds a lot to the melody in my opinion. Enjoy!

  • just saw Bruce in Pittsburgh at the most intimate show ever....a couple thousand people at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall. We were all moved at the songs he played on acoustic guitar. He performed Incident On 57th Street for the first time on acoustic guitar at the show. It brought tears to my eyes. Driving back home to Niagara Falls the next day, I hear this version on E street radio. It brought a tear to my eye. The best live version ever. Thanks Bruce

  • God this is great. I want to man to NYC within the next year or so. Been to city quite a few times. It's sounds like the city feels. It's so beautiful that's almost heard to beleive. It's hard to believe such music performed live. I have the LP with this song on it but this song seems like it would be quite a task live. I wish newer music would be like this live. The only think that I've seen that comes close is the band Acarde Fire. God if I die and go to heaven this is the kinda music I want.

  • @JLynnAS1 Yes, his absolute best! Did he also sing Incident on 57th? Any idea where can I find this recording?

  • i wax at home that night taping this show "Live from the Main Point" on WMMR radio.

  • Good Lord, I was actually there! Amazing....

I believe this was his masterpiece...

    His story of all stories...

he has *never* done anything this amazing since...

  • Good Lord, I was actually there! Amazing....

  • The Van Morrison influence is so evident in this song.

  • Picked up this double CD years ago in a small bootleg shop in Rye, NY. Has the original Thunder Road (it was Angelina, not Mary) and was recorded just weeks before his first ever national tour. This song in its entirety is easily the best version ever. I've seen it online at ioffer. A must for any Springsteen collection. Get it...you'll love it if you're a fan.

  • @keitht313 - Nice sentiments, but that image of 'young kids' at 1:44-2:04 isn't Bruce and Steve. It's actually Bruce and Dylan, taken backstage after a Dylan show in November '75 that Bruce attended.

  • the full orchestra tour is next. you heard it here first.

  • wow!! the image from 1:44-2:04 with 2 scraggly looking young kids!! BRUCE & STEVE WHAT THEY WOULD ACCOMPLISH AND BECOME!!! IN THEIE WILDEST DREAMS LOOKING AT EACH OTHER AT THAT MOMENT THEY WOULDNT DREAM HALF OF WHAT THEY BECAME AND WHAT THEY MEAN TO ME MILLIONS OF OTHERS!! BRUCE THE ONLY BOSS EVER WORTH LISTENING TO!! LOVE YA MAN!! AND MAY YOU PLAY FOREVER!!

  • F"n awsome!!

  • Post PART II - this is awesome.
