The Petrel has a section of hard chine where the strips meet at a sudden sharp angle. To make a tight fit here requires a long rolling bevel.

The music is "Far Corners" by Montage of Three http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/montage4

This is from a series of videos showing the steps of building a wooden kayak using the "strip-planked" or "strip-built" method. This particular boat is a high performance sea kayak design called the Petrel by Guillemot Kayaks. More information about the boat is available at http://www.guillemot-kayaks.com . Further information about the building techniques shown in these videos is available in the book "Building Strip-Planked Boats": http://building-strip-planked-boats.com/ For more videos in this series please visit: http://www.guillemot-kayaks.com/guillemot/blog
