Dude Japanese organizations don't have enough material OR scientific knowledge to make a beam saber. They don't know HOW to make a beam of light so powerful that can cut through medal, and they don't know how to make the beam of light stop at a certain point, for beams of light always travel infinitely.

They could have it in secret bunkets. This could also be a model. The real one's could be in the research labs.

Why would they spend so much time putting it together, just to disassemble it later, at least find a museum of Gundam Awesomeness to put it in.
