My friend and I were walking and we found this cat and it followed us EVERYWHERE we went. And it just kept meowing. Hehe. It was adorable!
[Addy's pov]
Once Nick was done obsessing over the fact my lips had touched his cheek, he dove in after me. He kept splashing water at me, I could tell he was flirting. I heard my phone ringing from the table I had set it on. I didnt feel like walking over to it so I just let it ring. I didn't splash Nick back because I didn't want him to think I was leading him on.
"Addison. What are you doing tonight?" Nick asked, stopping the splashing and walking closer to me. "Uhh-stuff." I replied, hoping something would come up with someone, not him. I know that sounds awful, but I really didn't want him to think I liked him like that. I didn't know who I liked anymore. I kept thinking about both Joe and Kevin. I didn't love Kevin anymore because of what he did to me, but we did date for so long, I couldn't help but miss him. And then there was Joe. Oh man. I think I like him, but I'm too afraid to admit it because I haven't talked to him in so long. Im pretty sure he hates me. I completely zoned out on what Nick was saying. He must've noticed because he waved his hand in front of my face. "What about tomorrow?" he asked, following me out of the pool. "Nick. Uhh...I'm sorry. I just don't think its a good idea if we-wow I don't know how to put it." I explained, wrapping myself in a towel. "I understand. Im sorry. I shouldn't have asked you. I just-I thought maybe we could have dinner or something. I know you don't like me like that, but neither do I. Well I don't like you like that. I understand we're only friends. Just trying to help." Nick explained, grabbing a towel and drying off as well. "Oh. Im sorry. I guess I just thought too much of your question. I thought you liked me because you looked a little out of it when I kissed you." I said, letting out a little laugh. "Well now that thats settled, I think Im gonna head home and talk to Joe." he said, grabbing his cell phone from the table. "Oh. That reminds me. My phone was ringing before." I said, grabbing mine as well.
I had four missed calls from Alyssa. She's my best friend in the entire world. Well my best girl friend in the entire world. Nick's my best guy friend. "Hey Nick. You wanna stick around for a bit? I think Alyssa might be coming over. I dunno why she'd call me so much otherwise." I questioned, nudging him with my elbow. "Psh. Why would I want to stick around for her?" he asked, looking away from me. "Oh come on Nick. I know you've had like the biggest crush on her for like...EVER!" I exclaimed, dialing her number so I could call her back. "Have not. She's not my type." he admitted, crossing his arms over his chest.
[Phone Conversation]
Alyssa: Its about time!!!
Me: Sorry. I was in the pool with Nick and I didn't feel like getting my phone.
Alyssa: Oh. Nick?
Me: Yeah. We've been hanging out. He's helping me cope with a few things.
Alyssa: Like what? The fact that hes totally crushing on me?
Me: Haha. Nooo. He claims you're not his type.
Nick *in the background*: Don't tell her that!
Alyssa: Oh. I thought for sure he liked me.
Me: Sorry Lyss. Guess not. So why'd you call?
Alyssa: Well I was wondering if you wanted to do something in like...oh twenty seconds?
Me: Why so soon? And how is that possible? You live in California. [AN: Addison and the Jonas' live in Arizona]
Alyssa: Well...soon because I'm sitting on your front porch and have been for the past twenty minutes. And Im here for a visit silly!
Me: Oh my gosh. Lyssa! Why didn't you tell me sooner!? Come back here!!!
Alyssa: On my way. *hangs up*
"Why did you tell her that!?" Nick yelled, shaking me by my shoulders. "Hey. I was only telling her what you said. I thought you didn't like her. What does it matter?" I mocked, putting my hands on my hips. "Of course I like her! I was just saying that because I didn't want you to make fun of me." he admitted, scratching the back of his head. "Who are we talking about?" Alyssa asked, appearing from the side of the house. "Lyssa!!!" I yelled, running to give her a big head. "Uhh. Psh. Blue. Ya know? From Blues Clues." Nick said, getting quieter towards the end of his sentence. "Ahh yeah. Blues a good dog." Alyssa admitted, a huge smile on her face. I stood behind Nick and mouthed that he was really talking about her. She smiled even bigger and gave Nick a big hug. They were so cute. I had to get them together.
