@jhgosnell I think it has to do with the power of silence that vibrates around the Ashram and the temple of Arunachala. The silence had a positive vibe, quelling my bloated ego that was out to challenge Him. I laid down my arm without even realizing I did and simply prostrated in front of Him, tears flowing uncontrollably. I left, with my mind calm and doubts gone.

@mrbrianmoran It's probably a bit late now, but Ramana Maharshi's teachings and Nisargadatta Maharaj's teachings compliment each other well. Both of these teachers taught at the same "level" of truth, although their teaching styles were different.

On occasion RM would send one of his students/visitors to learn from NM if the student just wasn't getting the teachings!
