The battle for the Cy-Hawk trophy and the Cy-Hawk Series. The rivalry between Iowa and Iowa state is big. Don't get me wrong, its no Alabama-Auburn or Ohio State-Michigan, but as far as non conference rivalry's go, its pretty big, especially to the fans. But just how much a rivalry is it. Find out...

  • Hey, jagoff, fact: Iowa's dynasty in wrestling exists because it was built by a wrestler from Iowa State.

  • @rubeclone44 You poor thing, you must feel so awful that that "cyclone" thinks of himself as a hawkeye. I'm so sorry you have to whine about that because your own coach abandoned you and now your new one can't keep his wrestlers from fighting cops.

  • @hawkiz4life Iowa State University last year also became the first and currently the only wrestling program to reach 1000 dual meet wins. Just sayin...

  • @rubeclone44 yay for winning duals??? Good for you??? I'll take our National Championships, you can have your dual wins :) How many of those dual wins were against us :) Thats what I thought.

So you think that what a person views themselves as has absolutely nothing to do with who they are? That is a ridiculous, and delusional statement. You can have his collegiate career, you win there, he was a cyclone. But you don't get to claim his coaching success as your own bud.

  • @hawkiz4life Finally, I can give credit where it's due, because I'm not a self-indulgent prick like most Iowa fans I know. The greatest wrestling program in NCAA history is Oklahoma St. with 34 NCAA championships. Actually, they are the greatest program of any sort in NCAA history. Enjoy the bowl season; Iowa should get a good one.

  • @rubeclone44 Two things, I will enjoy my bowl season, thank you very much. Good luck to you against Nebraska. As far as you dragging Oklahoma State into this... Yes, I will give them credit for holding the most championships in the sport. However, since Iowa became the dominant power in wrestling (yes, Iowa is) they have won 7 national championships, to Iowa's 23. They were the best program, that title has been taken away. And seriously, whats with your insults, I have not once insulted you

  • Iowa's opinion of Iowa State is parallel to what the rest of the Big Ten thinks of Iowa, as a have not. The few times Iowa went to the Rose Bowl, schools like OSU believed that a 2nd tier, have not team was representing the conference. Iowa is a poor relation to the powers of the Big Ten conference.

  • @hawkiz4life I'm defending ISU, not knockin Iowa. If you are referring to the the previous paragraph, I did not say YOU were a prick. I said most Iowa fans I know, an unfortunate truth for me.

Name calling is not the only form of insulting someone... "You poor thing, you must feel so awful that that "cyclone" thinks of himself as a hawkeye. I'm so sorry you have to whine about that...." Talking down to them is as well. Thanks for the well-wishes; we'll need some luck this weekend.

  • @hawkiz4life No one is trying to claim his coaching success. You stated very clearly in your video that "Iowa State likes to say they are a great wrestling school." Once again, the FACT is... we are. We've actually only won 8 NCAA team wrestling titles though, I won't claim any successes we haven't earned. Little boys like you show your loyalty to your school by disparaging others' schools. And as for "delusional," believing that where you work determines who you are... that's moreso.

  • @hawkiz4life Well, my friend, sticking feathers in your ass doesn't make you a duck. How he thinks of himself is irrelevant. He is in FACT a product of Iowa State University. And while I'm not interested in debating this point, because will concede that U of I has had the greater athletic successes, I will leave you with this fact as well regarding wrestling: Iowa State has produced 8 olympic medalists, 5 of them Gold. Iowa has produced 7 medalists, 3 gold.
