  • Why doesn't Tony Rice get more love? He was awsome!!

  • Any use of said formations brings about the old, "you can't do that in today's game." refrain. It is almost like those who cover the games consider those formations to be archaic and unsophisticated. Yet, the blocking schemes make those formations far more complicated than any passing play. Go figure, I know what you are saying though. I love watching Rice run the offence.

  • @waylonmac6 i remember from 22 years ago: the fiesta bowl was played at 4pm, and usc played in the rose bowl at 5pm (EST).

  • Notre Dame beat the hell out of west virginia, mountaineers never deserved to be in this game

  • was this game played at night or in the afternoon

  • 23-0 at one point. There was NO doubt ever that ND was the better team. At least not to any knowldgable CFB fans.

  • Only by 13 points?? ND was up by 21 in the fourth quarter. This game was NEVER close, ever. And looking at their schedules you can see why. BEFORE the game ND's opponents records were a cumulative 62-60-4. WVU's opponents' records were a cumulative 50-71-1. There was never a doubt that ND was a better team, only to WVU fans who want to look back on Harris' play, which was electric. But ask him today and I bet he'd say that ND was the better overall team. Everyone else knows it.

  • Holtz is a troll!

  • Major Harris had a separated shoulder after the 3rd play of the game. This and the grass field surely had an impact on him only gaining 11 yds rushing on the day. Nehlen left him in the game too long. When he finally put the back-up QB in, he immediately engineered a TD drive. It was just too little, too late. ND was great, but calling WVU "outclassed" is a bit ridiculous. They only lost by 13 pts., and remember... WVU was #3, 11-0, and outscored the opposition that year an avg of 43-16.
