My latest bamboo bike, smooth riding Gates belt drive, Shimano internal * speed Nexus hub, front generator, head light, rear mirror, loads of Karbona carbon parts, carbon stem, carbon bars, bar ends, water bottle cages, carbon seat post. Hand wrapped carbon joints, and a carbon eating for breakfast bamboo frame!

  • I designed the drop outs in CAD and then had them machined in 6061 aluminum.

  • Its a Gates Carbon drive system running a Shimano Nexus 8 hub.

  • It starts with a SRAM crank attached to a Gates 50T Belt drive, with a Gates carbon belt driving a Shimano Nexus 8 speed rear hub. Very quiet and smooth.

  • ITS NOT SO LIGHT, I DIDN'T BUILD THIS BIKE TO BE LIGHT, BUT TO BE SAFE, RUGGED AND DEPENDABLE, JUST THOSE HUBS ALONE WEIGH A TON. SHE WEIGHS 33LBS, BUT I HAVE MADE BAMBOO RACE BIKES UNDER 15LBS, SO LIGHT, STIFF AND COMFORTABLE IS TOTALLY POSSIBLE.
