Groovy little number from the good old days of Sesame Street with the weird woman and those worms.

Written/animated/directed by Pixar's Bud Luckey, lyrics by Don Hadley, sung by Kathy Gori (thanks for the info, suladog!).

Lyrics:

One two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven
Eleven o'clock, time to get up

It's a lovely eleven morning
I heard eleven worms yawning
I saw eleven cows sleeping 'midst the buttercups
I said, "How's your cottage cheese?"
And they said, "Oh, dry up!"
Oh!

Eleven little birdies in the trees
Bright yellow beaks and pinky knees
Eleven chicks hatching
Eleven cats scratching
Eleven's the number for me

Eleven ducklings quacking
Eleven pigs, lips smacking
One two three four five six
Seven eight nine ten eleven
Eleven's the number for me
Don't you see?
Eleven's the number for me!

  • I've been singing this for years and I couldn't remember all the words. Thanks for posting.

  • @mickiswit Music to my ears! You're very welcome, glad I can share. The archive is due for BIG upgrades this year as it's been sadly overlooked among my Real Life Nonsense. Still very proud of the little website that could. Celebrating 15 years this April, which blows my mind. But, as long as people like yourself can't remember the words, I'll be there :-)

  • Is this the same lady that sings "if you've lost your L?" AND is if you lost or L on you tube? I've had no luck finding it!

  • I believe they are one and the same, but I haven't been able to confirm the singer. And, alas, I can't find the L cartoon online anywhere, sorry about that.

  • hi, I'm Kathy Gori and I recorded this for Sesame Street. I haven't seen this since I did it, and I was 19 at the time. I did a few things for them through Walt Kraemer of Imagination Inc in San Francisco. I was a DJ in San Francisco at the time. It's so cool to see this agani.

  • OMG...I still sing this from time to time and my kids cannot relate even if I tell them that it's from Sesame Street...so glad I've found this video..now I can prove them that this song really exists!!!!

  • I remember this! Anyone remember the gumball one? Or the lady in the shoe? Or the nine one about the alien? Or the peacock! Or the shapes or the bowling or the kitties in the elevator oh! I could go on an on....

  • Ugh, this is the only one of the Bud Luckey counting videos I don't like. The female vocals are crap compared to his.

  • @mighty3alloa That was just a digital moment that had no importance of any kind. I like this song

  • 11-11-11

    11:11

  • This goes up to eleven.

  • 6 people work in the Krusty Krab at Bikini Bottom and were offended by the title of this song.

  • Another long-forgotten Sesame Street sketch. Man, the bizzareness of this show never ceases to amaze me...
