@mrlif305 I just wan say that when Bashar came in power or a few years after. Syria was VERY safe. We could walk out the house at 11pm go to our cousins house and come back at 1am and our parents were fine with it cos it was SO safe! Look now. You can't go out after it's dark (in certain places) cos you're scared of terrorists. They have ruined Syria and we constantly vote for Bashar because we want him to make it like it was before. Safe

@mrlif305 They were both elected and if "no one stood against him" people wanted Bashar in power. I remember one time i went to Syria it was during the time of the elections....MILLIONS of people stood in the streets of Damascus waving the Normal Syrian Flag and Waving pictures of Bashar....If we didn't want him in no one would vote. But Hafez has changed Syria for good and so we know that Bashar will do the same.

@parkour3r2 and yes, it's true those "freedom fighters" are looking more and more like Hamas/Al Qaeda/Taliban fighters. Even read a report on the BBC of Al Qaeda fighters crossing over to Syria. Truth is we can't do much for what is happening now just watch and wait for the outcome. I honestly believe there are fighters that want a different person in power not just Al-Assad, seeing that his father ruled the country for 29 years until 2000 and Al-Assad being elected in 2000.
