This was in Dec of 2006. The most snow comes in Dec. I recommend checking bigbearweather. com & the minute you see a snow forecast, reserve & go on those days. Be ready to bring tire chains & have fun driving. Bring toboggans or buy them at Big Bear Kmart. You can also slide down the hill behind the cabin if the street in the front has been plowed. During Feb, just watch the weather report for snow. Snow Summit has snow usually from Thanksgiving/Dec to Spring Break but call them if they're open.
