Antonacci is one of the most erotic and magnetic Carmen's on film the sexual dynamics between her and Kaufman and D'Arcangelo is blistering. Only Archipova,Bumbry, Migenes ,Graves and Dandridge in Carmen Jones have as much oomph in their characterization. My favorite live performance.

wel, jeje, in my opinion, I think they are the best couple ever for Carmen, perhaps without counting teresa Berganza, because Placido is not my favourite Don Jose; but, I think that if we take a look at most of the carmen's she is one of the best actrees of all, and surely the only one who really turn herself into the character. compare her voice with others and she has a very special sound with no equal. If it is not her role, it makes a great effort as a complete actrees.

He is one of the best Don José (if not THE best) but she is definatel not Carmen ! her voice is too "light" for Carmen.
