One of the fastest growing sites on the internet isn't a Web site, but a 3-D virtual world built and owned by it's residents. It's called "Second Life," and for millions of users, it's a place to escape reality.
But just like the real world, good and evil also exist in "Second Life." As a result, religion is finding it's way there too.
I would rather spend my SL with Christ not playing a computer game

Where are the Furry avatars? This seems racist towards them, only showing people with human avatars.

Second LIfe church is just as real as brick and morter ones. My congregation consists of people who cannot go to real life churches because of their own disability or because they are caring for children who have severe problems. Many of our people come from countries like China where religion is all but banned. This venue is just another way to evangalize. It's far better to have this in the 3D world than the adult content. It's a good alternative for those who can't go to rl church.

Virtual religion is just as bad as real religion.

I've been to churches in both Second Life and "meatspace", and I can tell you there is no adequate substitute for a real brick & mortar church.
What I would like to do is use video footage filmed in Second Life in my church's music and dance program this coming Christmas.
