With the challenge of war on the horizon in so many places, and the daily heart breaking news of loss of life, it is often too easy to focus on the bad things that people do to each other. Weather you believe in the current Iraq, Nepal, Uganda wars or not (or any of the other 20+ places in the world where bullets are flying into flesh for war-like conflict). Even if people have a different political or religious belief, it is that moment when we witness loving help for those in need or the smile of a child who can see a more promising future that can bring us all together. This amazing video from The La Jolla Foundation's Project Active distribution of shoes to the children in Afghanistan shows us that love is alive. http://www.projectactive.org sends athletic equipment to areas of war. It is time spread the peace inspiring seeds of sport.
PART 2:
"...Let us forgive those that went before us who hated each other and hurt each other -- and let us now, instead, pick up a soccer ball, play a game together anywhere around the world."
-- Mitch Thrower, Chairman of Project Active

I listened really carefully and this is the text that they were reading about:
PART 1:
"Reaching across boundaries of politics, religion, geography and history -- I am just one man, in just one country who started this foundation to send athletic equiptment around the world -- to bring us all together and remind us that we are on this big planet together. .."

Hey I found this quote from Mitch Thrower. Check it out!!
"A few years ago - I started a foundation - The La Jolla Foundation, and Project Active - a mission to diffuse world tensions through sport. The project has sent Soccer balls to Iraq, Haiti and Mexico. This past week - one of our shipments of Shoes made it to Afghanistan - thanks to Nick MacFalls, the Director of "From Our Feet" who contributed the shoes for our distribution."
