well tell me, which car maker don't use a lot of plastic? first of all, what's wrong with plastic?

they are good for weight saving, recycle, etc. even Benz used a ton, a ton of plastic, Does he expecting a Full Dash Shiny Bling Bling Korean Chrome in a Hyundai?

The trick is to use lots of weight saving plastic, but have it feel soft, durable and luxurious.

I was going to buy one until I saw the price. $25,000 base gets you NOTHING! Hyundai is starting to not give you standard equipment and making you pay big money for it! This is to expensive. Ill pass!

Both the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 start at around $23k. However, the Santa Fe Sport feels bigger, nearly as big as a Ford Edge. The Santa Fe Sport acts very similar to a Toyota Venza and that starts at $27,700. We think the Santa Fe Sport is worth $25k b/c it has a decent sized interior and good standard features.

You can't deny that Hyundai's skins are very attractive inside and out and now most have CLASS LEADING MPG and power with the Turbo option. Check out the ECO BOOST upgrade On the ESCAPE only 173 HP with 1.6 ECO BOOST and 23/33. Or Hyundai 264 HP FOR THE TURBO 21/31 MPG. That's a HUGE HP difference on he base and the TURBO! And very little MPG difference. Yes, Hyundai's have jumped way up in price. The New Elantra base compared to last years same car jumped $1,350 in one year for the same exact

It was hard plastic they were referring to. "Soft touch" interiors are not reserved exclusively for high end vehicles anymore. People expect more for there money. Look at the interiors Chrysler are now working with. I for one hope the days of interiors feeling as if everything will break off in your hands are gone.

The bad part Dave is that the guy doing the review is comparing apples to oranges. The Santa Fe is a Mid-Size crossover not a compact. Hyundai's compact is the Tucson. So if you're looking for a compact look at the Tucson. It starts at $19K. Lower than the Toyota Rav 4, the Honda CRV and Ford Escape.
