  • Hey the the lever shouldnt lock the collective above the lowest position. Yu should pull the lever to unlock the friction on the collective, and then be able to move the collective freely after that. then the lever is used as an input into the altitude autopilot.

  • Really? So if I am understanding you correctly, the lever works as a friction lock only at the lowest lever. And after that it's basicly just a switch to set the altitide AP?

  • Yes, thats right. Its in the manual. The collective is very hands on, and should never be locked while flying. You have done an amazing job, Im looking forward to seeing the complete cockpit!

  • I don't know it's very pollite of me, or even legal.. But could you please share some of the info with me from the manual? Just whatever is not classified?

  • I have had some hours in a full motion SuperPume Simulator and a Sikorsky simulator. And from what I could feel in the HOCAS it had more weight to it. And subsequenty a whole other feel from the motorized Force feedback system.

And also much more precise! So now I am in production of four springloaded return- to-center mechanisms, where a rather large solenoid releases a frictionbrake that allow the springs to return to it's neutral posistion excactly.! I have made a moch up of this

  • Thank you..!

I have had some time away from building since moving to a new town to work. But now I have started the new HOCAS setup for the KA50 pit.! I'll be moving away from FFB, and over to using mechanics to simulate the Force Trim.

  • Incredible.. Now I know what im gonna build next ^^

  • dude that is so sick!

  • Wow, that collective is really beautiful. It looks very much like the real thing.

The collective seems to be the only piece of flight sim equipment that almost nobody sells. You either have to pay a fortune at specialty sites (and even those don't have any buttons on them), or you have to make your own. Nice job.

  • That, sir, is awesome! Your nearest university should give you an honourary degree in engineering when you finish that thing!
