This week Rob and Corinne head to the Stitch Rock craft fair that just happened to be right around the corner from their house and encourage you to shop local and handmade for the holiday season. Plus we hang out with our very own Forum member Kate who shows us how to properly sew a zipper.

  • this is a horrible zipper video. im sorry to say. if this is the back of a skirt, for one, its way more pretty to use an invisible zipper. in that case alot would change. Installing a zipper is an art, and the seams make it look so ugly. it just looks so unappealing

  • @23cookies92chips Hogtown in Gainesville, hardly but you can get some cool stuff, most of it handmade

  • Thanks for the zipper bit! I was a bit intimidated by putting a zipper in a teddy bear sleeping bag, but now I think I'm ready!

Plus? I have that same pair of birdy scissors, inherited from my grandmother. :D

  • Thanks - the demonstration was helpful.

  • if u can't find basting glue or don't like useing glue on your frabric try basting tape. it's tape that comes in a thin role and it's much more accurat then glue and it washes out, so there is my edvice :)

  • the instructions were clear about sewing in a zipper--thx!

  • Wow, that is super easy! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! adding zippers always scared me too!! YAY, i am so excited to add zippers.. whoohoo a zipper here and azipper there... a zipper everywhere! =)

  • I fail at sew zippers. :[
