Dedicated to a family friends daughter, Für Alina is written in the composers signature tintinnabuli style. It is an overtly simple piece in b minor, yet it exudes a deeply mystic resonance by means of its very slow, ultra quiet singing line on top of a suspended drone in the bass.

Haskell! My God! the most beautiful and sensitive playing of the piano's harmonics I've ever witnessed. I was concert tuner for Robert Shaw, I know subtleties of sound. This piece should take a well trained choir, but you manage it on the keyboard. It has to be an excellent piano and You Sir - skilled - skilled, skilled. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
