You know things are getting bad when you have a hard time understanding the flight attendant English on a domestic flight within the USA! I decided to record the flight attendant announcement because half of the time I could not understand what he was saying. Most of it sounded like Spanish to me, but he is actually speaking English. In route from Dallas to Houston. This is a Continental Express FA.

  • Dallas to Houston, on a rejional jet? I would have thought the route was profitable enough to atleast use a 737, guess not...

  • Actually, Dallas to Houston is one of the highest frequency flown routes in the Country. Dallas to Houston is the number route in Continental system in frequency with 28 flights a day

DAL-IAH is the busiest route in frequency in CO entire system with 16 flights a day

Southwest also does 30 flights a day DAL-HOU

American does 15 flights a day.

  • Was his name Edelmarc? if so I know him. hahaha

  • I think so. He was a average height guy, looked Cuban (light skin) had black hair and was a nice guy. I just couldn't understand him.

  • It's not the sound quality. He did not have the PA volume turned up high and he couldn't speak English to save his life. Hence, I made it a point to record his in-flight announcement after hearing the debacle of the pre take-off announcement.

  • I can translate what the attendant is saying: "Our CEO of this cheap ass airline is ripping off every employee from baggage handlers to the pilots while they take in million dollar bonuses year after year. Are you a pissed off cumstomer? Who cares? Profit Pal! Profit!" That's what the flight attendant is saying.

  • dear my army boi.. if we are gonna say that.. then lets talk about how the word BOY is spelled.. and in response to the spanish/filipino thing.. i know the FA.. he is Filipino.. and if you knew about the filipino language.. you would know that more than 1/2 of all filipino words come from...SPANISH!!!!! thanks

  • Must be hell on approach

  • Every time I try to fly non-rev DAL-HOU, I always end up in the jumpseat, and that's on a TUESDAY when loads are down!

  • @pman552

Okay first dont blame Continental airlines blame Colgan, Second the cause of it was the pilots were strained

  • Probably a filipino

  • Continental Just replaced all 737 on DFW-IAH IAH-DFW with rjs exept one flight whitch leaves at 350pm 737-500

  • @MGR1900 It is quite relevant. You just refuse delivery of the facts.

  • That's such a "Love it or leave it" attitude I'm surprised you still think that argument is relavent.

  • @MGR1900 Yes but it's not the company's job to improve the employees' standard of living. It's the employee's job to improve their own standard of living. If they don't like the job, they can change jobs. It's called taking responsibility for one's own career.

  • @pete5668

And without treating employees ethically, you don't have a positive long term goal for a business.
