The medium-sized motorcycle which Kawasaki Heavy Industries produced with Kawasaki / Z400FX (Z よんひゃく F X). I abbreviated FX (F X), and it was got close by a pet name of "フェックス".
A summary

"Z500" announced in Europe in 1979 got high evaluation having the design of a novel straight line basic tone. I change a boa stroke of this "Z500", and it is "Z400FX" to have released as a medium-sized motorcycle to a Japanese license system. It could be it since CB400F of Honda where production was canceled in 1977, and the motorcycle of four cylinders which I could step on with a medium-sized license won extreme popularity. In comparison with CB400F which became stopping producing it, I enabled a 400cc4 cylinder without profit matching by using 500 and the part of export specifications in common thoroughly.

Production (an E4B model) was continued for a while after succeeding model "Z400GP" which planned the output, the reinforcement of the availability of traffic facilities in 1982 was released.
The change of specifications by the model change * E1(April, 1979 release) * E2(December, 1979 release) Mainly only as for the change of the graphic * E3(October, 1980 release) Mainly only as for the change of the graphic * E4(August, 1981 release) The front fork changed semi-air, the rear suspension to the thing which a damper could regulate than this model, and it was supplied with in E1 - E3 the glove bar which was option handling, and the foil coped with a tubeless tire. * E4A Painted cylinder, front fork bottom case, foil, リヤサス・スプリング red, and trimmed it, and, as for tank cap, リヤサス・アジャスター, the part of the silver plating originally became black rye; is specifications car especially. Is called "limited",; but a GP (the grand prix) special is originally the sale name. It was sold with a limitation of 500 at Kawasaki store. * E4B The thing which usually made coloring of E4A specifications. A resale version. As for this type, a frame number becomes KZ400E - 04****.
Others * Like a rival car model, is deep-rooted as a remodeling class car in motorcycle gangs / 旧車會; there are completely few bodies staying in a normal state, and is big for the image of this car model again, and it is it with the cause to decrease to be popular. As for the thing left in the state that is almost normal, it is had dealings with an amount of money lacking common sense. * Because I make much of a design, a seat becomes wide highly. You should do "Anko omission" to sharpen the sponge of the seat, but I do not want to break a beautiful design, but there are many riders who got on sake (because I want not to be thought to be short legs) at a stretch.

  • FXのアクセルは重かった

  • ah i don't beleive they make it anymore, i deal myself with older motorcycles because i don't care for the 'chopper' look and feel of alot of the new ones.

i like the look, feel, and power of the 80's and early 90's motorcycles.

440 should be fine for freeway, might want to look into like i think it's a 550 as well as that's got a little more power.

i'm not an expert though, i just love the older japaneese bikes, and they have treated me very well.

  • @thehairyhungarian. Thanks for the suggestions. Can I get the Kawasaki 440 inline 2cyl new? I'm guessing not. Sounds like an interesting bike. I'm into something that I could fit on more than looks. I do want somethin adequate for the freeway if needed along with a small size. But I'm saving for a new chevy cobalt cause it's the cheapest new car around with the discount. My van is on it's last legs.

  • i'll guess your also fairly light so a smaller bike would still be fast with you, there are 2 bikes i'll reccomend only cuz i've ridden them.

honda 250 rebel (kind of a mini harley look cool bike no record breaker but very cool)

and the kawasaki 440 inline 2cyl. this is faster than the rebel but a little less cool looking, i owned and rode one for some time, pretty dang snappy, and i've seen people bigger and heavier than me ride it (i'm 5'7" and have short legs) you'd probably be happy w/ eit

  • nice

  • I'm short what is a good motorcyle for a person who is 5'3 with an inseam of around 25 to maybe 26 inch?

  • thease bikes are used alot by japanese motorcycle gangs a very nice bike once you tune it to bousouzoku standerds
