This video was filmed while Sam Bluzman Taylor was staying at my house in the Netherlands during his tour with Mr. Boogie Woogie in 2006. He had been nominated for the Long Island Hall of Fame and was not sure if his schedule would allow him to fly back to Long Island and then back to Holland to finish the tour. We made the film just in case, but he did indeed get to go and was there to receive his reward. This is just Sam thanking people and reminiscing. We never used the video and somehow its like he is saying a goodbye to everyone. And now its just a way to see him once again and also say our goodbyes. The best part about it is its just Sam talking, the way he talked......"Well.." Love you Sam! Rest in Peace

  • loved Sam. had many a great night seeing and playing with Sam in Tucson. Great to see him here. I often pay homage to Sam when I scream... I feel horny tonite! at the end of a song here and there. Great, true Bluzman

  • I live in AL now, and am a die-hard Sam Fan, just learned tonight ....about losing him and I am devastated. I want his family to know how much I loved and appreciated Sam and Bobby, my friend. Monique Simone

  • I was a friend and fan of Heather Hardy, who was mentored by Sam and who played violin (jazz fiddle) beside him. Sorry to hear he passed. The Arizona Blues Hall of Fame will miss him along with all his fans.

  • Sam was a friend, teacher, mentor and a true legend. I am honored to have shared part of his life and in doing so, my life was changed. Thank you Karen for putting this up for us.

  • I had the privilege of playing behind Sam for 10 years as his guitar player/background vocalist and protégé. I love Sam with all my heart. Rest in Peace.

  • wow, a lot of wisdom right there, thanks for posting this one karen, great vid!

  • Sam was a true master of the craft and a wonderful and colorful human being. I feel honored to have known him and it has been a pleasure to work with him. He will be truly missed.

  • Sam, you made my heart skip a-beat again... only this time, there wil be no next time, and that's hard to believe. Take care.

  • Sam was an understated master of his craft. A mainstay of the Long Island Blues Community, he was regarded not only as a perfrmer and composer, but beloved as a disc jockey, teacher, historian, mentor and friend. The lives he touched, the careers he guided and the smiles to which he gave birth are counted with the stars. We will miss him, but thank God for the times we knew him.

    Rest in Peace, Bluzman.

  • I just found that Sam passed away. I had the honor to play drums for him a number of times and every time was a lesson for me. Beautiful video of a great man and a great player.
