This incident happened on February 2nd, and he was in intensive care for 3 day after being released. He is on his way to a full recovery after suffering from injuries including: skull fracture, concussion, collapsed lung, and a lacerated liver.

He had been throwing a snowball when he had slid off and ended up hanging. He hung for 2-3 minutes before falling. He had unclipped his snowboard about half way through hanging. We contacted ski patrol immediately upon reaching the top, the was no cell phone service at the time.

The safety bar was not down at the time nor was he wearing a helmet.

    He has no one to blame but himself. Just like you'd have no one to blame but yourself if you shift a motor vehicle with your seat-belt off. Stupidity manifested. Don't make excuses for stupid.

    so i agree with the whole helmet thing but really... i grew up on ski lifts and im a ski teacher and those bars are just there to rest your skis and boards on they are hardly a life saver and second everyone plays around a little. For REAL? "I hope he learned his lesson" with all those serious injuries? Next time you get in a car and dont buckle your seatbelt before you put the car in gear i hope that you get a skull fracture, concussion, collapsed lung, and a lacerated liver, learn your lesson
