@jacktheripped Wrong actually. Usually teams compete in the Louis Vuitton cup to decide who can challenge the current defender. This didnt happen this time. The Louis Vuitton was actually raced as the Louis Vuitton Pacific series around the same time as Alinghi and Oracle were facing it off.
Being a New Zealander, its nice to know all the best teams crewed mostly by New Zealanders.

It has always been about rich boys and thier toys....
This has been an entertaining spectacle, but because it was broadcast on the net, the media industry dropped it like a stone because there was no money to be made, hence not much build up before the race, as everyone would go to the net rather than the TV...
I hope they retain the fast boats for AC34, to quote a great sailor, "They race greyhonds instead of turtles for a reason."

So, I didn't know there was this race and I think this edition is the death of the sailing if they don't change the rules for coming back. I miss old edition of Louis Vitton cup, america's cup and so on..
