Each Hmong group has its own unique style of singing kwv txhiaj. I think these are the Black Hmong from Guizhou. They sing very loud and in very high pitches because like us, they believe their voices can echo across the mountains and be heard by others far away.

Also since this is a love song, the guys would make their voices trembly (0:55 and 1:35) to indicate that they are so moved by the girls' beauty that it's causing them to cry.
